Pilotage

 

In the port of Viana do Castelo the Pilotage service is provided directly by the Port Authority and is compulsory inside the port and in the area defined by the parallels 41º 52'.00 N and 41º 30'.00 N up to the outer limit of 2 miles centred on the outer pier lighthouse.

Vessels whose captains hold a Pilotage Exemption Certificate, valid for the port of Viana do Castelo, are exempt from the obligation to use Pilotage services.

Pilotage services are available at any time, except for specific conditions relating to draught, tides and weather and sea conditions.

Services must be requested via the Single Port Window.
