APDL Viana do Castelo

The mission of the Port of Viana do Castelo is to serve its customers and existing traffic, creating the best conditions for the service provided, facilitating the recovery and attraction of new cargo, as well as the conditions for the localisation of economic activities, in an integrated and sustainable manner.

The commercial sector of the port of Viana do Castelo is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for ships up to 180 metres in length and 8 metres in draught.

On average, the port is closed to shipping only 3 days a year for meteorological reasons.

The Navigation Channel is fully buoyed and illuminated according to the AISM/IALA - Region A maritime buoyage system.
