Viana do Castelo Shipyards
The shipyards are a medium-sized shipbuilding and repair company that has been in business since 1944. They occupy an area of 250,000 square metres, of which 50,000 square metres is covered.
The shipyards are equipped with a range of land and sea facilities:
1 dry dock measuring 203 x 32 metres
1 dry dock measuring 127 x 18 metres
1 construction platform at the end of the larger dock, measuring 140 x 32 metres
1 dressing basin with 2 quays, each 190 metres long
1 mooring quay (Bugio) 300 metres long
1 construction track measuring 120 x 40 metres

ENERCON is one of the leading manufacturers in the wind energy sector. ENERCON has been setting technological standards in the wind energy industry for over 25 years.
Represented in more than 30 countries around the world, in just two years ENERCON has created a modern centre for the wind industry in Portugal at its facilities in Viana do Castelo, where five factories have been built to produce essential components for ENERCON wind turbines: a Rotor Blade Factory and a Concrete Tower Factory in the industrial port of Viana do Castelo, and a Generator and Mechatronics Factory in Lanheses, where the Administrative Building and Training Centre are also located.
