Fishing Dock

This dock is intended for small coastal fishing boats. It has a wet area of 8,300 m2 and rocky bottoms at (-3.00 Z.H.). The dock is rectangular in shape and is bordered by 310 metres of moorable quay, where there are gangways, ladders for unloading fish, as well as a ramp to the west for grounding and repairing boats and launching the lifeboat. Access to this dock is from the access and circulation basin via a 170-metre-long channel (-4.00 Z.H.).

 

Unloading Quay and Fish Sales Quay

The new fishing quay next to the fish market, 170 metres long and 5.5 metres deep, is used for unloading fish. The fish auction building is used for fish handling and first sale operations and has an area of 1,800 m2. It also has a stand with capacity for 100 buyers and excellent facilities for administrative and other support services.

 

Fishing tackle warehouses

There are 39 warehouses in the harbour area for collecting fishing gear, preparing and packing fish.

 

Shipbuilding and Repair Yards for Fishing Vessels

There are two shipyards in the harbour dedicated to building and repairing wooden fishing boats.
