1. Increase of traffic, based on the building up of existing customer loyalty, to gain new clients and in the progressive integration in the logistic projects of the region;
2. To have good operational conditions and be efficient in the manipulation of freight, which passes through the port of Viana do Castelo;
3. To be economically self-sufficient;
4. To increase the range of infrastructures, through providing the port with new equipment for the moving of freight and by improving the maritime and terrestrial accesses;
5. To be competitive pricewise, firmly respecting the rules of competitiveness without losing sight of financial tenability, by making low prices a factor of competitiveness
6. To become integrated in the urban and natural surroundings of the port of Viana do Castelo
